Edo Election: Why Pastor Ize-iyamu Can’t Be Governor – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has given reasons why the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu can’t be governor of Edo State.

PDP explained that Ize-Iyamu’s confession validated the position of former APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole that he is unfit to govern the state.
A statement by PDP’s spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan said Ize-Iyamu’s confession of being expelled from the university was an indication that he was “unfit to be governor.”
“From Ize-Iyamu’s confession that he was expelled from the university, Nigerians, and particularly, the people of Edo State are no longer in doubt regarding issues surrounding the personality and conduct of the APC candidate.
“The expulsion by a panel, which, according to former APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, was chaired by no less a person than the current Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), Prof. Iste Sagay, has put a permanent deficit on Ize-Iyamu as the APC candidate.”
Ologbondiyan also called on Ize-Iyamu to explain why he did not attend law school and why Oshiomhole once said he should not be trusted.
“Moreover, Nigerians are still waiting for Ize-Iyamu to address why, according to the former APC National Chairman, he did not attend Law School as well as why Oshiomhole described him as a person that is only good for ‘night meetings’ and should not be entrusted with the governorship of Edo State,” Ologbondiyan added.
Meanwhile, the Edo State governorship election is scheduled to hold on September 19, 2020.
