Is not just about naming an album or song after a state, person, or any other things, there should be a real connection to depict it

Certainly, We have thousands of Musicians in Nigeria as we are blessed as one of the best African entertainment countries.

Only a few treasure their spring as we can vividly conclude that Olamide, Mr. Eazi, Mayorkun, and Wizkid are the only artistes to commemorate Lagos naming their albums after her.

However,  we still need to check whose album really connects with Lagos.

Let’s analyze according to their release’ date 👇

Lagos Nawa By Olamide

Olamide dropped this 17-tracks album in 2017 after the wide acceptance of “WO“.

According to the artwork and what we heard in the album, Baddo added wobey sound which made it more of Lagos vibes, right?

Crossing over the tracks respectively, I will single-handedly select “Radio Lagos” where he connects those that gossip with the Lagos radio station.

“Fenu Shey Street” is another well-structured song that follows the Lagos noise. “mouth no do street” is one of the slang that’s originated from the state.

Do I need to analyze “WO”? You all know this is a direct street sound for the real ones. A pure ghetto hit.

Lagos To London by Mr Eazi

Mr. Eazi is a fusion artiste on a mixture of Ghanaian highlife and Nigerian chord progressions and patterns.

In 2018, he released his album dubbed “Lagos to London” a continuation of his music journey after “Accra to Lagos” in 2017.

To spice the Lagos’ feeling, he featured the number one Lagos agbero, Broda Shaggi in “In Molue To London (Skit)” which the Instagram comedian dazzled.

Another notable track is “Lagos Gyration (Intro)” featuring a Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Lady Donli a songwriter and alternatives R&B, hip hop and alternatives jazz.

Mayor Of Lagos by Mayorkun

Self-acclaimed Lagos hub, Mayorkun has named his debut album “Mayor Of Lagos” after Lagos, following a triumphant run in DMW.

Apparently, he has no single track tamed with the word ‘Lagos’ but we can perceive the Lagos feeling in it. Can’t it?

I can openly vow “Oshepete” featuring DBanj as a Lagos vibes song. Then maybe “Posh” in addition.

Made In Lagos By Wizkid

Starboy becomes the latest artiste to name an album after Lagos. His long-anticipated “Made In Lagos” album dropped Oct 25 after so many promises and fail.

We understood the 14-tracks album has garnered millions of streams across the globe despite some critics.

Which of these tracks speak about Lagos? I think “Gyrate” can still be relatable to Lagos’ touch.

Okay, let’s say “Ginger” featuring Nigeria sensational artiste, Burna Boy is another track which belongs to this subject.
