I have seen people misusing this word on so many occasions
Hypocrite basically means the act of doing what you are against or preaching to people not to do. In another word, it is the failure to follow one’s own expressed moral rules and principles.
Some people have been misusing it for “people that don’t worship God or being grateful.” They will just open mouth and tell you “you’re a hypocrite for not going to Church” 😂😂.
In fact, some think it’s related to gossiping and backbiting.
My understanding of hypocrite in Yoruba means “agabagebe”.
