James Nwoye Adichie, first Nigerian Professor Of Statistics and father of acclaimed Nigerian writer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie was laid to rest on Friday October 9, in Abba, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The burial mass, held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church Abba, was precided by Auxiliary Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Jonas Benson Okoye with other Catholic priests.
In his homily, Bishop Okoye reminded Christians of the need to live a life according to the teachings of Christ and worthy of emulation, which many bear witness that the late Professor Nwoye Adichie lived and impacted positively on the life of those who he came across with, including his community, as heaven is the eternal home for Christians who ran their race well.
The burial mass was attended by many dignitaries including the former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi, Vice-Chancellor of UNIZIK, Awka, Proffessor Charles Esimone, other academians, traditional rulers and host of other personalities.
