What makes social media so special that billions of people spend a considerable part of their lives on it?
Social media gives people a voice and an opportunity to listen, engage, and build relationships.
For example the ENDSARS protest against police brutality and harassment was made easier and viral through social media. The fraudulent and incompetency of our political leaders are being shared/exposed to the world via social media hence their recent bill to regulate it but failed.
Seven out of ten Nigerians use social media to communicate, share information, and find exciting content. A massive number of companies consider social media a critical part of their digital marketing strategy.
According to survey, an average internet user spends 2 hours and 24 minutes per day on social media such as Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Instagram, Tiktok, Snapchat and more. Not correct actually, because I personally spend almost 24hrs a day on social media.
