Obasanjo Mourns Late Tanzania’s Ex-president

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has condoled with the President of Tanzania, John Magufuli, on the death of the country’s ex-President, Benjamin Mkapa, who passed away on Thursday at age 81.

Obasanjo, who described the late Mkapa as brother and friend, said he was a passionate leader, particularly about the Great Lakes Region.
In a condolence letter by his media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, Obasanjo said Mkapa would be missed for his exemplary leadership across Africa.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, has said Obasanjo became Nigeria’s military Head of State and civilian President because of his humility.
According to a statement from his media office on Friday titled, ‘Omo-Agege tasks political leaders on humility,’ the Deputy Senate President stated this in Abuja on Thursday at the public presentation of a book, ‘How I became a Senator in 30 days,’ written by the Chairman, Senate Committee on Rules and Business, Senator Sadiq Umah.
