The Federal Minister of Works and Housing Babatunde Fashola has today inspected the work ongoing the Third Mainland Bridge.
The partial closure of the bridge started on Friday and it is expected to last six months.
He was in the company of the Director of Highway, Southwest, Adedamola Kuti and Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, Mr Olukayode Popoola as they inspected the diversion at the Adeniji – Adele end of the bridge.
Fashola said motorists had issues with the ramp and he came to inspect the work based on complaints received.
He said,
“one of the complaints I got last night was the ramp was steep and the angle was not wide enough. So I called in last night to see what can be done regarding that to enable a rapid run through.“We have worked very hard with the government of Lagos State. We planned for the worst and we hoping for the best. Our team has been on the ground for two weeks. Now that the process has started I came out to see how our plan is playing out.”
