Imo State Government Signs Bill To Prevent Coronavirus, Other Diseases Into Law

The Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, on Friday at the legislative chamber, accented to a bill for the prevention of Coronavirus in the State.

VIRALTRENDNEWS reports that the bill seeks to introduce and enforce measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus and other infectious diseases.
Governor Uzodinma noted that the law became necessary following the outbreak of the deadly virus ravaging the globe.
To this end, he said the government, by the passage of the bill, has been empowered to invoke the penal clause on unsuspecting violators.
The Governor said that it has now become a legal offence for anyone to ignore government directive and control, such as social distancing, sanitizing of hands, public gathering, restriction order, among others.
He enjoined the people to cooperate with the government in the fight against the pandemic by adhering to government’s directives.
