Nigeria political system and in fact, all systems in Nigeria is generally built in such a way that allow corruption to thrive.
Corruption has eaten deep into the fabric of Nigeria as a nation.
Even if you don’t want to be corrupt, you will be up against a system that demands corrupt practices.
In stark contrast however, Pastors are seen as Ministers that speak the gospel of Christ and instill moral and discipline in people and society.
They are expected to uphold the tenant of Christianity and Jesus Christ at all time, pastors are not expected to be seen involving in corrupt activities.
However, we’ve seen many notable Pastors in Nigeria, who are active participant in politics.
Some of those includes, the current Vice President; Prof. Pastor Yemi Osinbajo, Former Vice-Presidential candidate and a one time running mate to Buhari; Pastor Tunde Bakare, Former Edo State SSG and currently a Governorship aspirant in Edo, Pastor Ize Iyamu, Pastor Chris Okotie among others.
Although, while no real corrupt practices has been found among the aforementioned Pastors, but many believe you can’t get yourself in politics without getting corrupt.
