Speaking on the groundbreaking feat on Sunday, February 2, Dr Kriengsak Attipornwanich, one of the doctors, said that cocktail of antiviral medications used for influenza and HIV were applied in the treatment of the patient, a 71-year-old Chinese woman, Jewish Press reports.
Attipornwanich said that the cocktail contained oseltamivir with lopinavir and ritonavir, both of which are anti-viral pills used to tackle the human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).
He went ahead to say that laboratory results turned negative 12 hours after the medications were given to the woman who had been infected with the 2019-nCoV coronavirus.
Recall that news.viraltrend.org reported that the federal government, through the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), had said that there is no cure to the deadly viral disease.
