The explosion, witnesses said, may likely be from a vandalised petroleum pipeline belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), situated in the area, Daily Trust reports.
According to Ibrahim Farinloye, the acting coordinator of Lagos territorial office of the National Emergency Management Agency
(NEMA), two dead bodies were already recovered, and several articulated vehicles destroyed as the fire raged on.
"Pipeline Ile Eko. I am there. Several entry points to the scene, I have counted about 8 vehicles affected. It can be more than that," he said
